Success at Liverpool 5150!

Liverpool 5150 triathlon again proved successful for Team Dillon athletes, last year the race was won by Stuart Hayes, this year was won by TDC Clark Ellice and TDC Jimmy Seear was 2nd.

It was a race where Jimmy Seear lead from the swim clocking the fastest Swim time, he went out hard on the bike as he knew he had to, it was tough conditions with cold Wind and rain. It took its toll on some of the other competitors but for Seear and Clark Ellice they only excelled as the race progressed.

Seear lead the entire bike leg with Ellice sitting around 15sec back in 2nd place, 3rd place was a group of four guys including Chris Mc Cormack. However Seear and Ellice managed to put time into the group behind and dismounted the bike with a 90sec lead over the chasers.

It was then a race against the two Team Dillon athletes with Seear only being caught by Ellice at the 5km mark, Ellice pushed on to open up a gap and went on to win the event in a time of 1.45.18 clocking the fastest run split of the day. Seear finished in 2nd place clocking the fastest swim and bike splits of the day and holding off a fast finishing Ruedi Wild from Switzerland in 3rd place.

The boys are now heading to the final of the 5150 which is held in Des Monies in september, ranked 4th and 5th along with Stuart Hayes who is now currently ranked 9th.

In the Womens Race TDC athlete Maxine Seear finished in 11th place with a big improvement coming on the bike, Maxine is making great progress with each race after being out of the sport for 5 years. Well done Maxie!
